As we were losing my grandmother to Alzheimer’s, I began exploring the idea of my family as a way to make sense of things. In my large Italian family, "family" is central. I ended up with four pieces: 

1. La Famiglia which represents the family's foundation or root system,
2. Far Parte Della Famiglia which represents the family's growth and livelihood,
3. Nesso which represents generations passing with memories fading and traditions lost, and
4. La Condizione which represents completely faded memories.
